Basic Bet Types
Once you’ve tried your handicapping skills to select your favorite track and races, you must select a bet type and determine how much you wish to spend on your wager.
There are different type of “Bet Types” and differ on how runners are to be selected to build the respective wager.
| Bet Type | Description |
|---|---|
| WIN | Your horse must finish first in order to collect on your bet. |
| PLACE | Your horse must finish first or second. |
| EXACTA | You select two horses – your horses must finish first and second, in the exact order you have chosen. |
| QUINELLA | You select two horses – your horses must finish first & second, in any order. |
| TRIFECTA | you select three horses your horses must finish first, second, and third, in the exact order you have chosen. |
| DAILY DOUBLE | you select two horses, one from each race listed as Daily Double. Both horses must finish first. |
| PICK #(N*) | You select a horse, one from the race listing the Pick (N*) and one from each of the following races. All horses in the selected races must finish first. (N*=any number, whatever is offered by the race track. Typically, Pick 3,4,5 & 6.) |
| SUPERFECTA | you select four horses, your horses must finish first, second, third and fourth, in the order you have chosen. |
| SUPER HI 5 | you select five horses – your horses must finish first, second, third, fourth and fifth in the exact order you have chosen. |
